Because I'm a huge Phil Lee fan -- "funny, you don't look huge" "shut up, Pat, I'm trying to write a note here" -- I was and am very psyched for the song demo'd below, recorded at the hank williams memorial circle in full orchestration in the friendly confines of the most recent mobile Phil Lee Mobile.
I mean it's a great American song.
So after listening to it a couple-three times I said something to that effect on his YouTube page there and the man wrote me back, saying "that's a closely guarded secret...but if you tell a few thousand people i wouldn't be that bugged..."
Well that killed me. I wish I could help him there.

Yeah, they probably did...let's hear it for ol' Hank (even though, as Waylon used to say, I don't think Hank done it this way)... I played a couple of his tunes at the AV Legion Jam (remember that one, Mr. Who - it's baaack!) last night...
Pat, they did! Bed, slats 'n all. It's a real oldie, though! Of course in the great tradition of roots yadda folk yadda Americana yadda bluegrass Phil has set down a set of new con-tem-po-rar-y lyrics -- because that's lots closer than Tipperary, which is a long long way, or so they used to say before they went over the top & got machine gunned.

P.S. Pat I give up what make and model ARE we in? The only clues i noted were the head rests which seem standard and the middle brake light thing but tons of vehicular modes of transport have those. What did you see where we only looked, Mr. Holmes???
