I actually got to thinking about Buddy, because we were thinking about Lennon, and because Hitch went belly up today. The only person I know who ever met him said he was quite the jerk to her. Huh. Disappointing, because he's one of the finest essayists I've ever read.

Never knew Buddy ever made it down under - huh! shows you how much I know...interesting that, when all of the other groups (like the Stones, and, well, me) covered this tune, they didn't quite get Holly's hiccuping, stop motion rhythm quite right...oh well, close enough for rock and roll!
Ah you do a fine Buddy Holly right now, Mr. Mac.
But truth be told, if you read the Denton book it'll make your Buddy even better!
