Doesn't the sky look green today?

I have no clue why, even though i was well-versed in Winnie the Pooh, in the day I had it in mind that Pooneil was the Jefferson Airplane family dog, other than, in my defense i guess, it does sound like the name of a cool dog.

I have never figured out what that song is really about. According to wikipedia it really has something to do with Winnie the Poo. The most amazing thing I learned is that it was released as a single. I sure don't remember hearing on top 40 radio. But it sure is a wild ride.

And Pooneil would be a great dog name!

Thanks Mr. P, I hadn't even clued into the "Halfway down the stairs Is a stair" thing. But the last stanza re "If you were a cloud and you sailed up there, you'd sail on water as blue as air, you'd see me here in the fields and say, "Doesn't the sky look green today?" is a fine riff on the very first chapter of the book Winnie the Pooh, in which we are introduced to Winnie the Pooh and Some Bees.
